Within the United Arab Emirates, AECOM announced that it has signed a contract to provide development management services to Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) for the Saadiyat Cultural District.

Saadiyat Island is one of the Arabian Gulf’s largest single mixed-used developments. Saadiyat Cultural District will include some of the world’s most significant museums including the Sheikh Zayed National Museum, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Louvre Abu Dhabi as well as more than one million square feet of mixed-use facilities.

AECOM’s work involves acting as an extension of the project owner from the inception through to facilities completion. The programs are extremely fast moving, necessitating the requirement to bring together the best talent.

We are looking to hire a Construction Supervisor (CS) to manage a package for the above project


Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Supervisor provides direction & management of site based supervision team on a large-scale fast-track project and ensures timely and quality resolutions to all site/construction issues in accordance with contractual obligations. The role will also involve supporting the construction manager in managing the on-site construction work, contractor interfaces, design team site supervision staff and general site coordination.The CS will assist in ensuring the successful commercial performance of the project to meet project goals & objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Ensure performance of the work in strict accordance with the plans and specifications

·Follows Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan and other documents.

·Follows the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors site staff performance.

·Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all technical, functions of the project and the site team. Assigns responsibility to key subordinates in their respective fields of expertise.

·Provides input to performance reviews and develop plans for subordinates.

·Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activities within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions, which would affect project cost, schedule, performance or Client relation.

·Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as-build plans.

·Conducts internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

·Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

·Participate in all Client meetings, representing the Construction Manager as required.

Required skills

·Degree qualified – Civil or structural preferred

·7 yrs experience

·Understanding of steel work design, fabrication and erection process

·Significant experience of structural steelwork

·Experience on iconic steel projects

·Middle East experience

·Candidates with a main contracting background will be given preference.
